The Resurrection Symphony by Mahler is monumental. This holds true even in the 'smaller' version by Erwin Stein. It's an impressive work about humanity in distress, about death, redemption, and resurrection. It's moving when mourning is sung, and the choir starts with 'Auferstehen'; it's overwhelming as the orchestra and choir sounds drive each other to a finale with heavy percussion, blaring brass, and a grand choir.
