\n\t\t\t\tSinging for me has always been a Song of the Earth. Throughout many periods of my life this work of Gustav Mahler together with Schubert\u2019s Winterreise has always come back to meet me on my singing path.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>

\n\t\t\t\tMezzosopraan Christianne Stotijn werd geboren in Delft en studeerde viool en zang aan het conservatorium van Amsterdam. Nadat zij haar diploma viool behaalde, zette zij haar zangstudie voort bij Udo Reinemann, Jard van Nes, en Dame Janet Baker. In de loop der jaren won zij diverse belangrijke prijzen, waaronder de prestigieuze ECHO Rising Stars Award 2005\/6, in 2005 de Borletti Buitoni Trust Award en in 2008 de Nederlandse Muziekprijs. Bovendien werd zij in 2007 verkozen tot BBC New Generation Artist.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>
\n\t\t\t\tChristianne is een gepassioneerd vertolker van liederen. Onder begeleiding van pianisten Joseph Breinl en Julius Drake, met wie ze al jarenlang als duo samenwerkt, zong zij in de belangrijkste concertzalen ter wereld. In kamermuziekverband treedt zij regelmatig op met onder andere altviolist Antoine Tamestit, haar broer, contrabassist Rick Stotijn en het Oxalys Ensemble.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>
\n\t\t\t\tDe dirigent Bernard Haitink heeft een grote invloed gehad op haar muzikale loopbaan. Onder diens leiding zong zij met orkesten als Het Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra en London Symphony Orchestra.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>
\n\t\t\t\tOok zong zij samen met vooraanstaande dirigenten zoals Claudio Abbado, Ivan Fischer, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Yannick N\u00e9zet-S\u00e9guin, Andris Nelsons, Gustavo Dudamel, Vladimir Jurowski en Jaap van Zweden in repertoire als: La Mort de Cl\u00e9opatre en Les Nuits d\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 van Berlioz, Seapictures van Elgar, Phaedra van Britten, Moessorgski's Liederen en dansen van de dood, Mahler's Ru\u0308ckert Lieder en Kindertotenlieder, de Neruda-Songs van Peter Lieberson, Fu\u0308nf neapolitanische lieder van Hans Werner Henze en Wagner's Wesendonck Lieder en Sieben fru\u0308hen Lieder van Alban Berg.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>
\n\t\t\t\tChristianne zong diverse wereldpremi\u00e8res van hedendaagse componisten. Zo heeft Michel van der Aa de cyclus 'Spaces of Blank' aan haar opgedragen in 2009 samen met het Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest. In 2013 zong Christianne Stotijn de wereldpremi\u00e8re van 'Totentanz' van componist Thomas Ad\u00e8s tijdens de Proms in de Royal Albert Hall te London. Ook op de operapodia was zij regelmatig te zien en te horen. Zo vertolkte zij onder meer de rol van Pauline in Pique Dame in de Opera van Parijs, de rol van Isabella in L'Italiana in Algeri tijdens het Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, speelde ze Ottavia in Poppea bij de Nederlandse Opera en Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo en het Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao. Zij zong de rol van Cornelia in Giulio Cesare en de rol van Neris in Medea in de Koninklijke Muntschouwburg in Brussel en bij de Nederlandse Opera eveneens Cornelia. Ze speelde de titelrol in Tamerlano in het Royal Opera House in Covent Garden en zong een concertante uitvoering van Wagners Tristan und Isolde in de rol van Brang\u00e4ne. In 2014 zong zij de rol van Marfa uit Moessorgski's La Khovanshchina aan de Oper Stuttgart. Zij zong in 2019 in Taiwan de rol van Marguerite uit Faust van Berlioz. In 2020 maakte zij haar rol-debuut in Strasbourg aan de Op\u00e9ra National du Rhin in de rol van Kundry in Wagner\u2019s Parsifal.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>
\n\t\t\t\tSinds 2014 leidt Christianne Stotijn de Udo Reinemann International Masterclasses te Brussel. Sinds 2021 is Christianne Stotijn als zangdocente verbonden aan de Hochschule fu\u0308r Musik, Wu\u0308rzburg. Christianne heeft een Stichting opgericht, welke eigen educatieve producties verzorgd. Met het bedenken en uitvoeren van vernieuwende muziekprojecten, zowel voor het bestaande en nieuwe concertpubliek, als voor kinderen, wordt gestreefd naar een vorm van overdracht en vertellen die breder is dan het zingen van liedteksten in de traditionele recital-vorm.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>

\n\t\t\t\tDe muziek van Christianne Stotijn werd uitgebracht op het label Onyx en sinds 2014 bij Warner Classics. Voor haar opname van liederen van Tsjaikovski, ontving zij in 2010 de BBC Music Magazine Award. Voor het label MDG nam Christianne Stotijn een werk op dat haar na aan het hart ligt: 'Die Weise von Liebe und Tod des Cornets Christoph Rilke' van Frank Martin.
